Michelle Magner and Shayna Meisel from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will facilitate the conversation. You can find their bios below:

Shayna Meisel joined ADL (the Anti-Defamation League)’s D.C. Region as Education Director after an 8-year career as a classroom teacher. Shayna began her career as an English teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools with Teach for America. She then transitioned to teaching on Cape Cod, where she spent 6 years leading anti-bias and equity work in her school in addition to her instructional role. A previous participant in Echoes and Reflections’ Yad Vashem Advanced Learning Seminar, Shayna is passionate about antisemitism education, Judaism, the Holocaust and equity work. In her role as Education Director, Shayna oversees and facilitates anti-bias and antisemitism educational programs throughout D.C., Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia including ADL’s No Place for Hate initiative as well as Words to Action, Echoes & Reflections and Awareness to Action. A graduate of Goucher College and Johns Hopkins University, Shayna has her Bachelor’s degree in English literature and Russian, and her Master’s in Education. 

Michelle Magner is the Deputy Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Washington, D.C. Regional Office. In her role, Michelle oversees educational programming and community engagement for the DC region. Working closely with the education team and regional ops, Michelle helps support addressing issues of bias and hate in schools and communities. Michelle has a background in education earning her Bachelor's in Education from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Ashland University. Prior to joining ADL, Michelle worked for a total of 8 years in both traditional public schools in Charles County, Maryland and a charter school in Columbus, OH as both a classroom teacher and high school administrator.
