DESCRIPTION:Strength as Medicine During Perimenopause\n\n02/07/26 12:15 PM EST\n - 02/07/26 01:30 PM EST\Description:\nThis event is hosted by Thrive with Dr. C- Integrative Physical Therapy. We are a whole-person centered, physical therapy practice located in the Courthouse Plaza of Arlington. We specialize in preventative and rehabilitative orthopedic care that incorporates the importance of stress management, physical activity, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and environmental health factors into creating our plans of care with a goal of assisting our clients in healing from the inside-out. At our core, we believe that life is meant to be lived and that given preparation, people should be able to participate in any activity they desire, regardless of age.\n\nStrength as Medicine During Perimenopause: Saturday, February 7th; 12:15-1:30pm\nStrength training is about far more than building muscle or changing how you look.\nThis educational program explores how resistance training supports whole-body health—helping reinforce and rebuild bone density, strengthen immune function through healthy white blood cell production, support antioxidant activity, and improve mental clarity and resilience.\n\nAs we move through midlife and into perimenopause, these benefits become even more important. Hormonal shifts can impact bone health, energy, recovery, and cognition, making intentional strength training a powerful tool for long-term wellness and injury prevention.\n\nThis program will include an education session (~20 minutes), ~40 minutes of functional movement pattern form review + workout, and 15 minutes for Q&A/mingling at the end.\n\nEvent is $10 and we do request attendees sign a participation waiver, due to the physical nature of the event.\n\nThere is a parking garage available with a shared entrance to 2200 and 2300 Clarendon Blvd at a rate of $2/hr for the first 4 hours or metered street parking is available around the building. If you park in the garage on G1 or G2, the elevator will bring you to the lobby. There will be a member of the Thrive with Dr. C team in the building lobby from 12-12:30 pm to provide access to the 3rd floor.\n\nYour session will be led by Dr. Candace Harding PT, DPT, OCS and owner of Thrive with Dr. C. Dr. Candace graduated from The George Washington University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2016, obtained her orthopedic speciality designation in 2019, and has completed additional training in Integrative Lifestyle Medicine, the treatment of fitness athletes, runners, and specializes in the treatment of yoga practitioners as she, herself is a yoga teacher locally and internationally through retreats. Dr. Candace is also a DMV Metro Area Ambassador for lululemon. Since opening her own practice in 2022, she has furthered her education in the peri-menopausal transition through Snowden & Litos as a means to better assist her clients, as a large majority are experiencing hormonal changes.\n \Location:\n\n2300 Clarendon Blvd. Suite 320\nArlington, VA 22201
